Josh Freese stepped behind the kit for Foo Fighters during one of the most emotionally challenging periods in the band's history. He was officially announced as the band’s latest addition in May 2023, with a comical introduction during the Making Music For Concerts livestreamed show, and made his live debut during the Everything or Nothing At All Tour.
While Dave Grohl handled the drum tracks for the 2023 album But Here We Are, Freese's live energy was an essential hand that reached out and helped the band back on their feet. His tenure concluded in 2025 when Ilan Rubin became the drummer.
Outside of his time with Foo Fighters, Freese is booked and busy, widely regarded as one of the most prolific session and touring drummers you could find anywhere. His extensive resume includes work with Devo, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, The Vandals, and Weezer.
