Times Like These (Acoustic)
About
In March 2003 Dave Grohl was invited by English Rock Band Killing Joke to record drums on their eleventh studio album, set to be released later that year. After initial recording in London the band had convened at Grandmaster Recorders in Hollywood, California where Grohl joined up with them to record his drum tracks.
Whilst there he also decided to work on a project of his own, recording an acoustic version of the Foo Fighters track ‘Times Like These’. As well as recording the new version of the song with producer Nick Raskulinecz he also wanted to create a performance music video for the track.
Editor of the All My Life video Bill Yukich was asked to direct the video alongside Grohl himself, with the video consisting entirely of raw footage of Grohl recording the guitar and piano tracks and singing the vocals. No other members of Foo Fighters were involved in the recording or video.
The video was sent to broadcasters and included on Foo Fighters own ‘DVD/EP’ release.
